Vesilute Peptide

Glu-Asp dipeptide · bladder bioregulator · the family core

Vesilute peptide is a lyophilized vial of the dipeptide Glu-Asp, written ED, assigned to bladder tissue in the Khavinson bioregulator range. It is also the shared structural core of almost every other compound in that range, which makes it the most interesting molecule in the family and the least discussed.

Why Is Vesilute Peptide the Core of the Whole Family?

Mapping every sequence in the Khavinson range surfaces something none of the individual product pages mention, and it centres on this compound.

Vesugen is Lys-Glu-Asp. Cartalax is Ala-Glu-Asp. Chonluten is Glu-Asp-Gly. Pinealon is Glu-Asp-Arg. Ovagen is Glu-Asp-Leu. Livagen is Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala. Cardiogen is Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg.

Every one of those contains Glu-Asp. So do Epitalon, Cortagen, Bronchogen, Pancragen, Prostamax and Testagen. Fourteen of the sixteen compounds in this range are built around the two residues in this vial.

Only two compounds lack it. Vilon is Lys-Glu, which has the glutamate but no aspartate. Thymogen is Glu-Trp, likewise.

That leaves an uncomfortable question with two answers, both consistent with the published record. Either Glu-Asp is doing the work and the flanking residues tune where it acts, or the fractionation programme kept recovering the same abundant dipeptide motif because it is common rather than because it is active.

Nothing in five decades of publication distinguishes those readings, and Vesilute peptide is the compound that would settle it.

What Experiment Would Vesilute Peptide Settle?

The family structure hands researchers an unusually clean design, and this compound is the control arm it needs.

Run Vesilute peptide against two or three of its extended relatives at matched molar concentration, in the same assay, on the same day. Cartalax, which is Vesilute plus alanine, and Vesugen, which is Vesilute plus lysine, are the natural first comparators.

Should the bare dipeptide match what its longer relatives do, the extra residues are decoration and the tissue assignments across this range carry no structural information at all.

If it does nothing while the longer sequences do something, that is direct evidence that the added residue matters, which is precisely the claim the programme has asserted without testing head to head.

Either outcome reshapes how this family is understood, and either is publishable. The material cost is lower than a single vial of most compounds elsewhere in this catalogue.

Nobody appears to have run it, and the reason is not expense.

What Does the Truncation Relationship Mean Practically?

Vesilute peptide is what remains when either of two other compounds loses its first residue, which has a direct quality consequence.

Cartalax is Ala-Glu-Asp. Remove the alanine and Vesilute is what is left. Vesugen is Lys-Glu-Asp. Remove the lysine and the same is true.

Solid-phase synthesis builds a chain from the carboxy terminus backwards, so that first residue is the last one added. A failed final coupling on either compound delivers Vesilute.

Extend that logic across the family and Vesilute becomes a plausible terminal truncation product of almost every compound in the range, since fourteen of them contain it.

For a buyer that means one question is worth asking of any bioregulator supplier: does the chromatogram show anything at the Vesilute retention time, and does the mass spectrum show a species near 262.2?

It is the single most broadly applicable quality question available across this whole product family, and it takes one line on a certificate to answer.

What Is a Bladder Bioregulator?

The organ term draws search that the trade name does not, and it names the programme premise rather than a pharmacological class.

The St Petersburg group fractionated organ extracts on the idea that each contains short peptides carrying regulatory information specific to that tissue, then named the resulting compounds after their source organ.

Vesilute peptide came from bladder tissue in that work. The name records where it was found rather than where it has been shown to act.

The assignment sits particularly awkwardly here, because the same dipeptide is the core of compounds assigned to liver, heart, lung, pancreas, prostate, testes, cartilage and pineal gland.

If Glu-Asp addresses bladder tissue, it is unclear what the same two residues are doing inside a compound assigned to the heart. If it addresses nothing in particular, the bladder assignment is doing no work either.

No tissue-distribution study across this family exists, which is the work that would resolve the question and which the compounds are cheap enough to make trivially affordable.

What Vesilute Peptide Benefits Have Been Measured?

The published record for this compound is the thinnest in the family, and saying so is more useful than padding it.

Work from the originating programme reports urinary tissue observations in aged rodent models, with histological assessment and markers of tissue-associated gene expression.

Cell-culture work across this family reports chromatin decondensation. That is advanced in support of the DNA-binding hypothesis rather than of any bladder claim.

Vesilute is among the least studied compounds in the range, well behind Epitalon, Vilon and Pinealon. Expect a thin record.

No well-powered independent Western clinical trial exists, which is true across the whole family.

The chemistry is settled beyond dispute, the research record is thin by any standard, and the mechanism remains an unresolved hypothesis. That combination is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up.

How Is a Dipeptide Verified?

Two residues is the simplest analytical case in this catalogue, and that simplicity cuts in an unexpected direction.

Mass spectrometry against roughly 262.2 confirms the molecular weight, but a two-residue compound has very little mass to distinguish it from anything else in that region.

Sequencing by tandem mass spectrometry, which resolves ambiguity for longer peptides, has almost nothing to work with here. A dipeptide fragments into two pieces.

Amino acid analysis after hydrolysis is therefore more informative for this compound than for any other in the range. It returns a glutamate to aspartate ratio, and that ratio should be one to one.

Reversed-phase retention is early and unremarkable, since two acidic residues and no hydrophobic side chain give the compound almost no affinity for a C18 stationary phase.

That early elution is worth anticipating. A gradient optimised for the longer family members may push this compound close to the void volume, where resolution from salts and small-molecule impurities collapses.

An ion-pairing agent or a dedicated shallow gradient at low organic content solves it, and a supplier who has not adjusted the method may be quoting a purity figure from a region of the chromatogram where nothing separates.

Ask what gradient was used. On this compound specifically, that question carries more information than the purity number attached to it.

Why Does the Counterion Matter More Here?

Counterion correction applies to every peptide in this catalogue and matters most in this vial, for a reason that is pure arithmetic.

Synthetic peptides are usually isolated as trifluoroacetate salts, and each acidic or basic group can carry a counterion that adds roughly 114 daltons to the mass on the balance.

Against a 5,000 dalton peptide that addition is a rounding error most researchers ignore without consequence.

Against 262.2 daltons it is over 30 percent. Weighing one milligram of trifluoroacetate salt delivers substantially less than one milligram of peptide, and published concentration-response work is sensitive to a shortfall that size.

Net peptide content on the certificate is the field that resolves this, expressed as a percentage of the weighed mass that is actually peptide.

Where that field is absent, the working assumption in the literature is 70 to 85 percent for a trifluoroacetate salt. Assuming rather than measuring introduces an error band wider than most experiments can tolerate.

Acetate salts are available at higher cost and carry a smaller correction, which is worth considering for quantitative work on a compound this small.

No other compound in this catalogue makes the counterion question as consequential, which is a reason to raise it here rather than bury it in a handling note.

How Should the Vial Be Handled?

At two residues and roughly 262.2 daltons, Vesilute peptide is the smallest and most chemically inert compound in this catalogue.

No cysteine, no methionine, no tryptophan, no asparagine-glycine motif and no folded structure to lose. There is very nearly nothing here for degradation chemistry to act on.

Keep dry powder sealed and dark at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius or below. Refrigeration is more than sufficient.

Counterion correction is the largest in this catalogue. At 262.2 daltons a single trifluoroacetate at 114 is over 30 percent of the associated mass, so net peptide content is not an administrative field here but a third of the answer.

Water solubility is excellent given two acidic residues and no basic residue at all. Ordinary plasticware is fine here.

Log the lot, measured mass to two decimal places, counterion, net peptide content, diluent, volume, concentration and date.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vesilute peptide?

A lyophilized vial of the dipeptide Glu-Asp, written ED, assigned to bladder tissue in the Khavinson bioregulator range. At roughly 262.2 daltons it is the smallest compound in the family. Laboratory research use only.

Why is it called the family core?

Because Glu-Asp appears within 14 of the 16 compounds in this range. Vesugen, Cartalax, Chonluten, Pinealon, Ovagen, Livagen, Cardiogen, Epitalon, Cortagen, Bronchogen, Pancragen, Prostamax and Testagen all contain it.

Which compounds lack it?

Only two. Vilon is Lys-Glu and Thymogen is Glu-Trp, both of which have the glutamate but no aspartate. Everything else in the range is built around these two residues.

What question does that raise?

Whether Glu-Asp is doing the work while flanking residues tune where it acts, or whether the fractionation kept recovering an abundant motif because it is common rather than active. Both readings fit the published record.

What experiment would settle it?

Running Vesilute against Cartalax and Vesugen at matched molar concentration in one assay. Cartalax is Vesilute plus alanine and Vesugen is Vesilute plus lysine, which makes them the natural first comparators.

What would each outcome mean?

Reproducing what the longer sequences do would make the flanking residues decoration. Doing nothing while they act would mean the added residue matters, which is the claim the programme has asserted without ever testing it head to head.

What is the truncation relationship?

Vesilute is what remains when Cartalax loses its alanine or Vesugen loses its lysine. Since solid-phase synthesis builds a chain backwards from the carboxy terminus, that first residue is the last one added, which means a failed final coupling on either compound delivers Vesilute.

Why does that matter across the family?

Because fourteen compounds contain Glu-Asp, making Vesilute a plausible terminal truncation product of almost all of them. Asking whether a chromatogram shows anything near 262.2 is the most broadly applicable quality question available here.

What is a bladder bioregulator?

A label describing the fractionation programme rather than a pharmacological category. This compound was recovered from bladder tissue in that work, so the name marks a source rather than a demonstrated site of action.

Why does the assignment sit awkwardly?

Because the same dipeptide is the core of compounds assigned to liver, heart, lung, pancreas, prostate, testes, cartilage and pineal gland. If Glu-Asp addresses bladder tissue, what it is doing inside a heart compound is unclear.

How large is the counterion correction?

The largest in this catalogue. At 262.2 daltons a single trifluoroacetate at 114 is over 30 percent of the associated mass, so net peptide content accounts for roughly a third of what you weigh out.

Compliance Statement
